Australian Chief of Army visits Tonga

The Australian Chief of Army – Lt. Gen. Angus Campbell is in town to enhance the military ties between Tonga and Australia.
This is his first official visit to the Kingdom.
Speaking exclusively to Radio Tonga News – Lt. Gen. Angus Campbell says, he’s been working with Tonga’s troops on international missions such Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Tonga has been consistent participant on the regional and global mission. I visited the patrol boat base where we see development. I’ve also had good conversation with the HMAF regarding our training opportunities for the forces. “
The Australian Chief of Army was in Tonga yesterday.
He was received in audience by the King at the Royal Palace in Nuku’alofa, met with the Minister of Defense and government officials.
He will depart with his delegation this afternoon.
