Longoteme calls on Government to focus their assistance on Agriculture.

Agriculture is the main source of income for the people of Lord Veikune at Longoteme.
The residents believe this should be the focus of help from Government and stakeholders.
This was raised during Hon Semisi Fakahau annual Parliamentary visit last night.
Concern raised included a request for the green houses in Vaini to be used by local farmers instead of the Chinese.
There was also a proposal for a bill to establish the guidelines for spaces between plantations and the Village’s water supply system to ensure it is safe from chemicals.
Another concern included calling for the hospital to purchase dialysis system with funds from the constituency budget.
Others also called on the Government to look into immigration fees imposed by the offices of Australia and New Zealand on visa applications because it is too high.
One resident also hopes that the Government Ministries monitor and follow up with people the costs of fruits because they are still expensive but imported fruits are free of tax and duties. .
Two women Ingrid Tolu and Kalo Nasio also calls on Government to help women’s development work as it helps the general community.
