St. Francis of Assisi primary school won the Soroban Competition for Central District

St. Francis of Assisi primary school won the Soroban Competition for the Central District this afternoon. GPS NGele’ia came second while GPS claimed the 3rd Spot.

 

About 400 classes 3, 4 and 5 students from 13 Primary Schools participated in this morning’s competition.

 

It was judged in 3 categories – oral, written and flash competitions with these results.

 

In the oral category, class 3 was won by Chin Tonga’onevai of GPS Nuku’alofa, Fe’ofa’aki Lavakihelotu of St. Francis of Assisi took first place for class 4 while class 5 was won by Tileva Vaivelata also  of St. Francis of Assisi.

 

‘Alipate Tausinga of St. Francis Assisi received first prize for the flash category for class 3, class 4 went to Limkamoana Kautoke of St. Francis Assisi also and Siaosi Sovaleni of GPS Ngele’ia stole the first spot for class 5.

 

Lastly in the written competition. Class 3 was won by Malia Siena Pe’ei of St. Francis Assisi, Paula Misa of Hilliard Memorial claimed first place in class 4 and Siosiua Tupou of St. Francis Assisi won the first prize for class 5.

 

The competition will continue to the Western and Eastern districts.
