The Supervisor of Elections – Pita Vuki says his office is rushing to get the country ready for a vote a year ahead of schedule.
The Electoral Commission has less than three months to prepare the electoral roll for the General Election.
Last week’s royal dissolution of parliament was accompanied by an order that elections be held on or before November the 16th.
He says that an election should be held no later than the 16th of November and they are trying to fix in a timetable that fits our rolls in.
He adds they’ve already compiled a draft of the electoral roll and public are welcome to correct their names and constituencies before the 15th of this Month.
He says the biggest challenge is trying to work on that, thinking that the election would be held next year, but apart from that, everything else are normal practice.
