Attacking people with sharp objects is becoming a norm in the society

Assaults using sharp objects are on the rise in Tonga.
Just last week, a 59-year-old from Ma’ufanga was assaulted with a machete.
A spokesperson for Police said, the accused was under the influence of alcohol.
The accused is a young man of Ma’ufanga and he’s been charged with grievous bodily harm.
On a separate incident at Tokomololo, a young man assaulted her girlfriend with a pair of scissors.
Police arrested the 25-year-old boyfriend and charged him with grievous bodily harm.
