‘Emeline Tuita new CEO for Tourism

‘Emeline ‘Uheina Tuita has been appointed the new CEO for the Ministry of Tourism effective 15th of September for a four year period.
Tuita holds a BA of Commerce from Auckland University and a Master of Business Administration from University of California.
She has served as a career diplomat at the Consul for the Kingdom of Tonga in San Francisco from 1990 – 1992 and as a Consul General in 1996-2000.
She was appointed the first Ambassador of Tonga for the People’s Republic of China in 2004 and took up the post in Beijing from 2005 – 2008.
Prior to taking up her new post she was engaged as an Economic Development Management Consultant at the Amira Agency Tonga.
She has held various positions in the public, private and civil society sector.
‘Emeline takes over from her sister Fekita ‘Utoikamanu who left earlier this year to take up an assignment with the United Nations in New York.
