Candidates Registration starts today

The first day of candidate’s registration has ended with about 43 registering for the Tongatapu district only.
Radio Tonga spoke to some of the candidates at the Commission’s office including ‘Ana Bing Fonua from Tongatapu Constituency #1 and Tevita Motulalo from Tongatapu Constituency 4 where they spoke of their work plan.
Tevita Motulalo says, as a candidate he is highlighting the importance of moving forward with the idea that “we can’t choose the past over our future.”
He says, we spend an awful lot of time sorting our problems and looking for solutions for unresolved issues, and not putting our minds and investing on our future, such as young people, various developments in different sectors, education, sports skills and many others.
Meanwhile ‘Ana Bing Fonua the former CEO of MIA says, she trust her staff will deliver their role efficiently to the public while she tries this step.
She says, the purpose of her running as a candidate is to voice out youth’s needs and problems, amongst many other issues such as our economy.
Results of the registration of candidates in the outer islands will be completed by tomorrow afternoon.
From Niuatoputapu, a candidate Vaatau Fui was processing his registration when Radio Tonga News called.
4 candidates have registered for Ha’apai 12 and 13.
No registrations yet reported from Vava’u and the island of ‘Eua.
About 5 CEO’s of various Government Ministries have resigned to stand for the election.
