New bus by the Govt for the Elderlies

The elderly people expressed their joy and happiness in a program that was held this morning at the National Retirement Benefits Fund and Social Welfare Scheme.
A passenger Bus with the name “Manatu ki ‘Api” was presented as a gift to honor their labors at home and in the community.
There was also a school bus presented to Tupou High School.
The purpose of the ‘Manatu ki Api’ bus is to pick up the elderlies from their homes as well as to taking them on regular tours which will commence next month.
This bus was presented on August 19 by ‘Elisiva Fangia Finau, a Tongan living in Australia who also donated TOP$1,000 for each bus for fuels is supported by the Patron of the Board, HRH Princess Angelica Latufuipeka.
Speaking on behalf of her 94-year-old mother, Elisiva says in honor of her mother’s birthday, this was an act of charity spending her birthday money on this bus for the Elderlies in Tonga especially those who are always waiting for a bus from their respective places to pick their monthly allowances.
Two of the senior Elderlies Latu Filimoehala, 89 years old and Paula Vailea, 79 expressed how happy there were and grateful to God for granting them health to let them witness this wonderful gift to the elderlies.
The Tonga Airports Limited also funded 200 liters of diesel to both buses.
