KRAK Attack Warning

It is vital for the locals especially Government Ministries to be more cautious in Using WIFI. Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that allows computers and other devices to connect to the Internet.
Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga News – Paula Latapu a senior Security Analyst for Tonga’s National Cert said, this was after a threat attack called “KRACK” has been discovered around the globe.
The attack allows the attacker to intercept and read data that passes between a device and a wifi router.
The devices can be Computers, Mobile Phones, Tablets/ IPADS, Smart TV or even Routers.
Paula Latapu says, the attacker can alter traffic, inject and also manupilate data.
For instance, the attacker might inject ransomware or other malwares into a website that a user access.
He says, to address the matter all devices connected to WI-FI network needs to be updated with the latest software and when the user’s not using wi-fi turn it off or disconnect the device from WiFi.
