Pioneers of Tonga Rest Cross died last Saturday

One of the pioneers of the Tonga Red Cross Society – Katokakala Savieti Latavao of Ngele’ia and Pangaimotu, Vava’u died last Saturday.

 

The Secretary General of Red Cross – Sione Taumoefolau says, she was a dedicated woman assisting people who were in need throughout her life for free.

 

She started working at the Red Cross in the 1960s when she was assigned by Her Majesty – the Late Queen Mother to look after the office administration.

 

She managed to teach few of the public servants the first aid especially the police and soldiers from His Majesty’s Armed Forces.

 

Condolences has been sent from members of the Royal Family.

 

Katokakala was known to many with her first aid assistance during the Inter- Collegiate Sports Competition.
