Senior Policeman discharge without conviction

A senior Policeman has been discharged without conviction after he was charged with number of charges after an incident that occurred at the Salote Wharf in Nuku’alofa in November last year.
The charges include attempted interference with the course of justice and Using a vehicle with an unauthorized license plate.
Despite the accused being discharged he will still have to pay $200 forthwith for prosecution costs.
The Accused Tevita Fifita was charged while he was Chief Superintendent of Police in charge of the Central Police Station at Nuku’alofa.
