HM King Tupou VI to attend Mate Ma’a Tonga’s match against England

HM King Tupou VI will grace Mate Ma’a Tonga’s match against England this Saturday with his presence at Mt. Smart Stadium in Auckland NZ.
This was confirmed to Radio and Television Tonga News this morning by the Lord Chamberlain Viela Tupou.
She says, HM is leaving Tonga on a royal visit to Europe, with a stop over in Auckland over the weekend.
This was after invitations was extended by the Chairman of the Rugby League World Cup 2017 and the Rugby League World Cup CEO.
Speaking to Radio and Television Tonga News, leaders of various Tongan Community in NZ – Salote Heleta Lilo and Melino Maka says, this has uplifted the team and their thousands of supporters.
Though the came will be on Saturday, but Tongan supporters had started cheering – and reminded the players to enjoy their game on Saturday and wear their red jersey with pride and to remember to wear the traditional Tongan attire which is our faith in Heavenly father.
Sione Nuku Kata from Tonga’s Rugby League board supported this and wish the boys well in the upcoming match.
Meanwhile the famous Tongan singer – Dinah Jane Hansen has arrived in the land of the Long White Clouds to perform Tonga’s National anthem this Saturday.
The cheering is not only in New Zealand but all over the globe and in Australia , Tonga’s High Commissioner’s office in Canberra will conduct a program this afternoon as part of their 100% support to the team – with Tonga’s High Commission to Australia – HRH Princess Latufuipeka leading the program.
